Session 1 offers a multifaceted mix of talks and interactive formats on the topic of interlinking research and education. Hannes Raffaseder (CEO of the St. Pölten UAS, President of EURASHE and E³UDRES²) will open the session with a speech
This will be followed by a student panel on ‘Entering the Academic World: Students’ Experience in Building Research Skills’, where students of the bachelor degree programme ‘Media Management’ of the St. Pölten UAS (Lea Babinger, Anna Weissenbach, Anna Schabasser, Louisa Marchart) discuss their experiences with interlinking teaching and research within a lecture design together with Marlene Cermak & Johanna Grüblbauer.
Johann Grassl (St. Pölten UAS) will then present the lightning talk ‘E+Dieting Lab for Education and Dietetics Combining Experiential Learning and Community Service’. The E+Dieting Lab uses virtual avatars and artificial intelligence for dietetics training. This digital laboratory offers the opportunity to simulate patient-related consultations and therapy in a virtual clinic. Finally, an interactive workshop by Dagmar Monett (Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin, DE) will be dedicated to the topic of ‘Strengthening Research and Education = Strengthening Academia and Industry Partnerships’.
The major aim of the workshop is to develop initiatives for strengthening research and education through academia and industry partnerships. The focus will be on identifying the factors that can lay the foundations for better collaboration between higher education institutions and companies as well as other institutions, thus contributing together in order to identify a common goal, global strategy and future projects.

On this basis, the expert jury will select the final winners, who will be awarded in the afternoon after a keynote speech. Keynote: Intersectionality is the (not so secret) sauce
The keynote addresses the importance of intersectionality in maintaining an effective practice of working towards gender equality and gender parity in all fields, sectors and spaces. Intersectional approaches are the (not so secret) sauce, but is intersectionality too spicey a challenge for some?
This keynote will look at the relevance of intersectionality to all elements of gender and diversity as well as the challenges of implementing intersectional approaches.
